Low-level laser therapy, or cold laser therapy, is a low-intensity form of laser therapy that stimulates the body’s natural healing process. Although the procedure itself is not “cold,” this type of treatment is sometimes called cold laser therapy as the levels of light are not strong enough to heat your body’s tissue.

During the procedure, different wavelengths of low-level light are applied directly to the target area on the body. The body tissues absorb the light, and the damaged cells respond with a reaction that promotes regeneration.

Most patients report low-level laser therapy as being completely painless, as the procedure is non-invasive and causes no sound, vibration, or heat.
