Revolutionary Therapy to Speed Healing

Shockwave therapy works to accelerate the body’s natural healing process. Strong energy pulses applied to the treatment area stimulates the metabolism and enhances circulation.

The energy pulses are short, creating tiny bubbles that penetrate the tissue and expand and burst. The force created by the bubbles stimulates cells in the body that are responsible for bone and tissue healing.

When you visit Optimum Wellness Centres for a consultation, you will be met with friendly staff to check and make sure that your required information is on file. We will then have a no-obligation conversation about why you seek treatment and what you want to get out of it.

Your practitioner or technician will examine the area in question and decide whether shockwave therapy is a good option.

After identifying the areas causing you pain and discussing what shockwave therapy involves, your technician will let you know what to expect from the procedure. They can pinpoint common symptoms of shin splints, heel spurs, tendonitis, and many other conditions that shockwave therapy has effectively treated.

Treatment Options & Plans

Shockwave therapy sessions are typically done once a week for 3 to 6 weeks, but your treatment plan will vary on the severity of your condition. Typically, treatment sessions will take around 30 minutes and may cause some mild but brief discomfort. Any tingling or burning sensations should subside within 4 to 5 minutes of treatment.

Your practitioner many recommend other modalities in conjunction with shockwave therapy to achieve the most effective results.
