Find Relief for a Wide Range of Conditions
Medical cannabis can provide relief for people suffering from nausea, pain, and low appetite.
Cannabis has two primary active ingredients: THC and CBD:
- THC causes a kind of “high” that alters your emotions, behaviour, and conscious thought process
- CBD is commonly associated with pain relief, relaxation, and improved sleep
Many strains of cannabis exist, each with its own balance of THC and CBD. Since the effects of each strain can vary greatly from one to the next, finding the right strain for your needs is vital for effective treatment.
Schedule an appointment with one of our medical doctors and learn more about what types of medical cannabis might be right for you.
The Consultation
In order to purchase medical cannabis through a medical platform, you will need a medical prescription from a medical doctor. Appointments take place over the phone and are covered by Alberta Health Services.
Your doctor will ask you a series of questions to determine your candidacy for medical cannabis. If you are an appropriate candidate, your doctor will then write you a prescription and one of our educators will put you in touch with a licensed producer so that you can purchase the appropriate product for your needs.
The Diagnosis
Much of the research supporting the use of medical cannabis is still relatively new, so some doctors may be reluctant to prescribe it. The best ways to increase your chances of getting a prescription for medical cannabis are to provide documentation supporting your experience and be honest about your medical history so that your doctor can make an informed decision.
During your appointment, talk to your doctor about:
- How does your condition or its symptoms impact your life
- The other therapies you’ve tried (and how they may have failed to provide adequate results)
- Your plan for using medical cannabis responsibly (including how you plan to consume it)

SUCCESSFUL STORIES
Just have to thank Dr. Nina!!! The chiropractic care I receive is outstanding and with such precision and creativity! I have an autoimmune condition called Scleroderma which causes extreme mis-alignment and muscle/joint pain. After an adjustment I feel amazing and helps me to cope with the symtoms so I don’t have to take pharmaceuticals that often. Also, I notice my low blood pressure is back to normal since I have been seeing Dr. Nina. I am so relieved I can start up my adjustments again. I have referred my nieces, my sister, and my friend and they all are of the same opinion!! Dr. Nina is my Chiropractor for life!!!

I highly recommend Nicole, I had my first massage with her today and it was very relaxing and took a lot of the stress out of my body from the last few months. I felt very comfortable with Nicole, she is easy going, respectful and professional. It was just the perfect combination of touch and light conversation at the right time. I will most definitely be going back to Nicole in the future.

Made the mistake of going to another provider based on them open on Saturday, what a mistake. Minimal relieve and care. I returned to Dr. Jamie Mulholland in Airdrie and what a difference. Hips line up, pain on standing gone, not hunched over due to lower and upper back pain, headaches relieve in the first visit back to Dr. Jamie. Won’t venture away again.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Jackie Fairbourn for over 8 years and I highly recommend her as an amazingly gifted healing facilitator. She continues to impress me with her openness to adding gentle healing approaches to her extensive chiropractic skill set. Lately I have particularly enjoyed the tension-relieving benefits resulting from receiving Body Code, Emotional Code and now, Network Care. I appreciate her calm, informed and intuitive healing support.

I was referred by a friend to Jency Henry Physiotherapist at Macleod trail Optimum for my back pain. She is amazing, she knows what she is doing. She was explaining during the assessment and treatment session about what are my issues and what needs to be treated or taken care. I was very satisfied about her approach in treating my pain. I came to understand about my body better like my weakness and tightness. I feel very light as if most of my weight has been off from my back after my session.
