Shoulder Pain
The shoulder is arguably one of the most mobile joints in the body. As a ball and socket joint, it has 180 degrees of flexion and abduction, which most other joints cannot do. Due to this high level of movement, the muscles and ligaments supporting it need to be strong and work together to keep the humerus (arm bone) in its proper position. When the joint is not operating optimally, that is when shoulder pain can appear.
Some common causes of shoulder pain include the following: rotator cuff sprains and strains, tendinopathies, impingement of nerves and tendons, arthritis, instability of the joint.
